Windows 2000 and NT 4 Source Code Leaks

Microsoftdeb_hacker writes "Microsoft has confirmed that portions of the Windows 2000 and Windows NT 4.0 source code have turned up on the internet. The company says the leak did not come from a breach of its own network, and the trail seems to lead to a partner with source access.

The archive was passed around on IRC and peer-to-peer networks within hours. Free software developers working on Wine, Samba and ReactOS have been quick to tell contributors to stay well away from it: anyone who has looked at the code should not submit patches. Expect the security crowd to have a field day either way."
