Our October meeting is on Saturday, 16 October, 1:00 to 4:00 PM in Meeting Room B at the library. Tom Becker will show how he turned an old Pentium II into a file and print server for his family's three Windows PCs using Samba 3. Tom will cover installing Samba, sharing a folder and a printer, setting up user accounts so everyone gets their own home share, and making the Windows XP SP2 firewall play along. Bring questions about your own setup.
As usual, the second half of the afternoon is open for install help. We'll have Fedora Core 2, Mandrake 10.0 and Knoppix 3.6 CDs on the table. |
